Winter Season - Cross Country and Roadwalks

The Winter season runs from April/May to August and open to all Joondalup athletes.

The Winter season is run at the state level by WA Little Athletics. Different Little Athletics Centres host a meet each week. Meets can be located across the metropolitan area and last year included a meet in Bunbury.

Training is run at by Joondalup Centre (not by Clubs). Details about training and the meet calendar will be posted closer to the end of the Summer season.

The competition is alternated between Cross Country Runs & Roadwalks each Saturday afternoon at various locations. The Program for each meeting will commence at 1:30pm excluding the State Championships which will start at times advised.

Cross Country Runs

  • U7-U9 - 1500 metres
  • U10-U12 - 2000 metres
  • U13-U17 - 3000 metres

Competitors must compete in a minimum of five (5) Cross Country runs (excluding Country Centres) to be eligible for State Championships.

Roadwalks

  • U7-U9 - 1000 metres
  • U10-U12 - 1500 metres
  • U13-U17 - 2000 metres

Competitors must compete in a minimum of four (4) Roadwalks (excluding Country Centres) to be eligible for State Championships.
