Frequently Asked Questions
What is Little Athletics?
Little Athletics is Track and Field sport for 5 to 16 year olds. At Joondalup Little Athletics we focus on:
- Family. Parents are encouraged to fully participate in our sport by being involved as coaches, officials, and helpers. Little Athletics is not a sport where parents simply watch from the sideline, or pay their fees and then pick up their kids at the end of competition. Your children enjoy their sport so much more when they see you engaged.
- Fun. Children are encouraged to participate in all the events we offer, and we place most emphasise on recognising personal best (PB) performances and the personal development of each individual junior athlete. Little Athletics offers children a wide range of events, from running to jumping to throwing, so their is plenty of opportunity for children to find favourite events that suit their particular talents.
- Fitness. Little Athletics is a great way for children to get outdoors and be physically active, improving their general health and fitness. Little Athletics is also a great way for athletes to give themselves a strong fitness base for other sports and activities.
How is Little Athletics organised?
Joondalup Little Athletics consists of three clubs who all train independently but then come together for Saturday morning competitions. All training and competition occurs at the Arena Joondalup Athletics Oval.
The three clubs are:
| Club Name | Training Times | Fees | Colours |
| Beaumaris Bulls | Wednesday 5:00-6:30pm | $170 | Red and black |
| Connolly Cougars | Tuesday 4:30-6:00pm | $150 | White and black |
| Kinross | Monday 5:00-6:00pm, Thursday 5:00-6:00pm | $150 | Blue and black |
Do I have to go to training?
No. Little Atheltics is an individual sport and so parents can make thier own choices about training their children. We encourage children to train with their club, but if they don't, it doesn't matter.
