Nominations to State Events 2012

The various end-of season WALA events are coming up fast and nominations are now open for:

State Multi-Event Championships

This is a mini-Decathlon open to all Under 11 and up athletes -- you don't need to qualify or be selected to get into this Championship!

  • Held at the State Athletics Stadium on Saturday February 11.
  • Athletes do five events: short-track hurdles, 100m, 800m, a throw and a jump and earn points based on their performance. Read the program.
  • Gold, silver and bronze state medals are awarded.
  • This is a great opportunity for all athletes to compete at the State Athletics Stadium.
  • In the evening after the Multi-Event Championships, the Perth Leg of the Australian Athletics Tour (Perth Track Classic) will be held and all Multi-Event athletes and families get free entry!
  • To nominate, email Janine Fulgrabe, our Special Events Officer at specialevents@jlac.org.au by Friday 20 January 2012.

Zone Championships (Under 7 to Under 15)

Represent Joondalup against Hamersley, Ridgewood or UWA at our Zone Championships and try to qualify for the State Championships!

State Championships (Under 16)

Under 16s can nominate directly for States without having to qualify through Zones.

To nominate, download the appropriate form below and give to Janine Fulgrabe (email specialevents@jlac.org.au or give it to her in-person at a Meet) by Wednesday 15 February.:

Please note it is a Joondalup requirement that families of athletes who go to Zones/States must complete allocated rosters. Failure to do so may mean JLAC will refuse to accept a Zones/State nomination for that athlete in the future.
